Default Fuel?

I have had my 2001 2300scr since new and never had any issues til this year. Was escorting out rigger club across the channel to Catalina and engine kept cutting out would take about 10 min to get going. Once I got it going it was fine til I would stop and idle for a couple of minutes and would repeat 4-5 times limped in to catalina. Spoke with a few people over there and concluded water in the fuel line, No Parts available. Guy said remove filter and dump out to diagnose. Did that no more problems 20+miles back great condition full power. That was 2 months ago. Was going to sell boat pulled out unwrapped cover and pump throttle 5 times (carb) boat started right up( batteries good no charge or jump needed. Hooked up muffler let run for about 5+7 min boat stalled (temp 175) pumped throttle 2 re starts runs about a min and stalls, when trying to throttle up doesn't seem to have enough fuel pressure. boat was nose down in drive way and between empty and 1/8. disconnected from car raise bow and added 5 gal now reads over 1/4. Removed water separator dumped out same symptom. There is a blue pet cock on line? not sure what it is? Any help would be much appreciated. thank Tony Sweett

Tony welcome aboard

Sound like eiter water in the gas tank or crud in the gas tank. That trip to Catalina may have stird up gunk off the bottom of the tank. Then running with the tank that low will be sucking up the crud.

You did not say what engine you have but I am assuming it's a 5.7 which for this year would have an electric fuel pump. Being a carb engine check to ensure he choke is opening in a few minutes of starting otherwise that will keep theengine from idleing.
