Default fresh water plumbing fittings

Many of the PVC? fittings are failing on my plumbing. They are white plastic barbed fittings with a screw coller. The tubing is PE and in good shape. Most of the fittings I have found for this type of tubing has a pressing in fitting with a pressure activated o-ring. I don't think these type of fittings work well on a system that cycles pressure (turned on and off).
