Thumbs up First trip on boat

So yesterday we took our 17' to the lake.
This is the first boat we have owned, and the first we have missed with for years. Except for a rental in south Fl a few weeks ago.
Made a point to go to a smaller area with less traffic to put in. Getting it into the water was uneventful, then it started and ran fine. We are on Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia, ran down river for several miles, stopped at a large area, docked and at the lunch she packed us., headed back up river, went several miles past the ramp, then turned around and loaded it, again no issue. Overall a very successful maiden voyage.

A couple of items.
The 4 cylinder inboard ran great, but I did notice a small miss over 3200 RPM or so. But only burned about 1/4 tank of fuel in three hours of riding, some over 4K, mostly between 2 & 3K and some just idling and watching the scenery.

The seats are junk. The need replacing and wifey wants the fold down style on her side- no problem plenty available on EBAY. I am not sure, seems I want to be higher up most of the time, do not like the visibility I get when actually in the seat. Like most I set on the seat back. So maybe a captains style made onto the seat base. Loosing the rear facing seat on that side will not affect us, we will not be carting that many people.

Some other little items, will keep posting our adventures in boating.

That miss could be bad gas or in need of a tune up.

A captains chair with a flip up bolster may be what you are looking for.

Enjoy
