Thumbs up first splash.....

as many know ...last summer I hit a reef at 32 mph last summer..pretty much screwed my whole summer....we got the boat back in sept....and pretty much didn't use the boat all winter...so...after winterizing the boat and letting her layup for the entire winter..I've spent almost every weekend making sure she's laid up and resting for the winter....fired her up a few times and then rewinterized her....then today we finally splashed her....wild whim was in her element....first thing I did was fire off the generator and ac system....let that run for a bit...fired up both engines and let them warm up...my friend who came to our rescue last yr. was my deck hand....we took the boat out and down the river and into open water...from there we headed north for a bit...saw some boats all clustered around ..finally saw a puff or what is called blow when grey whales surface for air....probably about 6-7 whales in 3 different groups ....we idled up and watched for a bit..then turned around and went back to the marina...put the boat up and blew both engines down just in case we have a quick freaky freeze in april...........

washed the boat after and she's ready to rock and roll now....

all systems work....and are ready to get underway.....

boy I hope to have some nice weekends on the boat this yr....enough with the drama...

now my warning or recommendation to all of the folks here on moc...PLEASE make sure you have your radio and gps hooked up to talk to each other.... then get the mmsi number programmed into your radio...it's free.....painless and can possibly save your life.....

SP.......I know that the US power squadron is really pushing getting your DSC hooked up. Even here where I boat where you can see both sides of the shore, if you got it get it hooked up.

Glad you had a great day out on they the boat:-)

Got my new ac pump hooked up today ...works like a champ!

SP: So glad to hear you're back on the water , and that the Wild Whim is ready for action, better than ever. You certainly deserve a much better summer than last year, and I wish you the best. Thanks for the safety warning, VHF and GPS are connected on the Summer Isle, and our MMSI is programmed.
