Default Dumb Question- Location of Battery Disconnect Switch

Just bought a 1999 Maxum 300 SCR! Nice boat and had Lake Powell all to ourselves for the weekend.

The dumb question is where the heck is the battery disconnect switch?

Time for my humbling!!!

Typically they are either in the engine compartment or in a cabinet under a deck sink.

On my 2001 3000 scr inside the cockpit cabinet on the port side just left side of the sink if you open the door and look to your right you will see two isolator switches. And there you go.....

Thank you guys so much! Waiting to get the full zebra mussel decontamination tomorrow and then headed back to Montana. I was in the engine compartment and didn’t see it. Looked where the 120V cords connected, no luck. Under the seats in the cockpit... failed again. You guys are a huge help. I am sure I will have more questions...

Also, on the left side of that same locker will be the master disconnect and breaker for your windlass (if yours is fitted with one)

Donnie ... got your question and no I don't have any pictures handy. Boat is shrink wrapped and when the weather break I might be able to get inside and take a picture for you..... no promises...lol. I would suggest just hitting the switches and seeing what they do and go from there...

Good Luck

Thanks Roger. Once it got dark all of the left side switches were self explanatory enough. Might not have the proper terminology or abbreviations but I know what they do. Will work on the right side ones when the weather gets a little nicer. We got our boat home to Montana and it proceeded to get below zero for a week so boat progress has been placed on hold for now...

I hope you winterized the engines, head and freshwater systems before leaving UT/AZ.

Sure did. Engines, Head, Hot Water, shower pump, Cold water system, swim platform shower, Air cond unit, drains, bearings on trailer greased and a professional decontamination from zebra mussels as required by the state of Utah before we could leave Lake Powell. Even had a visit from a nosy Road Runner...

Philbo - we picked our boat up at the wahweap marina at the end of the “I” dock. How far away from you were we?
