Default Dual batteries

I have 2 batteries on the 2400 scr.

Recently replaced one which is a m24-3. Starting battery. Other battery is an interstate.

Should I have both batteries basically the same or should one be more for stored powered to run accessories while on water etc ?

Depends if you spend hours on the hook, if you do the house battery should be a deep cycle.

One should be the Start Battery, the other should be the House battery. On a simple 2 bank system, I like to dedicate #1 to the Start, and #2 to the House. Start and run on #1, then once you stop the engine, sitch to batt #2. I'd also size Batt. #2 (house) ti be much larger (Group 31 (min.), 2 x Group 31 in parallel, or even a 4D/8D if you can fit it.)
