Default Detailer and new swim platform...

Big max is headed in for her spring visit to the beauty shop. While there she will be getting fitted with a new extended swim platform!!! Can't wait! I will try to get some install pics, but will definitely get some before she goes back in the water!

you guys should check out Platform ultra. swimplatforms. I think they are the best extensions i have ever seen. just google the company . and a bonus for americans is that its a canadian company and you save about 30 percent on the dollar.

I actually did get a quote from them. My platform from swimplatforms.com is $250 cheaper (that's total price with shipping) and it's a nicer looking platform. It's several inches longer than platform ultra, and has a nicer looking taper where it meets with the existing platform.

I would have to disagree with that statement. Been to the factory , and have seen two or three that was made from the other company and I think the finish is much better. But each to their own

Haveamax, does it through bolt through the existing platform, or screw/lag?

If it's through bolt, I'm trying to figure out how to get back there to put nuts on them.

New platform sits on top of the boats existing swim step, and extends out from there. It is thru bolted on the top and has three braces that run underneath to the transom. All the bolts are thru to inside the transom. These are accessed by getting into bilge at the engines. This is why I'm paying a boat manufacture here in havasu to mount the platform. I don't think I could get to the bolts inside bilge.....

Yea, it's the top bolts I'm worried about. The lower bolts I think I can get to. Reaching up inside the existing platform to put the nuts on the bolts....

The extended swim platform was one of the best upgrades I ever made to my boat. Maxum always builds such tiny decks.

The best swimplatform builder in my mind is just north of you and you save 30 percent on the dollar by buying canadian. check out platform ultra

Ok, we've heard your opinion, let's talk some facts and then just put this to bed.

The Canadian exchange rate is .75 CAN = 1USD. So, it's 25%, not 30%.

International shipping cancels that savings. My shipping quote from platform ultra was $403.73. Crate was $133.75, platform was $2,024.71, for a total of $2,562.19.

My quote from swimplatforms.com was $1,835, $135 for crate, and $349 for shipping, for a total of $2,379.

Swimplatforms.com's platform is 49" vs.
Platform ultra 46".

In summary, their platform is smaller, priced higher, and more expensive to ship, even with a favorable exchange rate.

Their selling point is a claimed "lighter" with no facts cited to back up the claim. My boat weighs over 12,000 pounds. The weight of the swim platform is a non-factor.

That your opinion. I have been in construction and boating products all my life and I know good products when I see them , so you can make your opinion when ever you want but their was a customer from the east coast wanting a swim platform and I gave him my opinion, that's it. If you don't like what I say then that your business. I know good products when I see them and with my experience they make the better product. At the Anniplois boat show and Toronto boat, this company sold 120 platforms. If they made a bad product then I fought that oeople would buy from them
