I am taking a guess, but KFT is more than likely Keel Offset in Feet. You can display either depth measured from the transducer or depth from the keel (or bottom of outdrive). If you enter the vertical distance from the transducer to the bottom of the outdrive and enter this figure in KFT, when the depth finder reads zero, the bottom of the outdrive will be touching the bottom.
Theoretically, you also should be able to enter the vertical distance from the water's surface to the transducer as a negative value. Then the depth sounder would display the actual water depth rather than depth below the transducer or outdrive. But the Faria I have won't let me do that.
You will have to experiment to be sure this is the way yours works.
