Default DE-arching

I have this pole barn where I can store my 01 Maxum 3000 scr if... it wasn't so tall. 12 feet doors and the boat on the trailer hight is 13 feet.

Has anyone taken their arch off? Easy , hard? or I thought I could hinge it? Find an fiberglass guy to do it.

Thoughts anyone?

Roger

I suspect it's more work than you will want to do at the end and beginning of each season. The cost of modifying the arch for a hinge will probably be costly as it will require reinforcing on either side of the hinge point.

I remember a thread a few years ago where a guy hinged his arch. I don't recall where I saw it though. I can attest that it is doable. I would think the trick would be keeping it water tight at the joint, so water doesn't run down the cable chase into the aft.

It should be four bolts to remove on each side. A panel in the aft of the 2800 reveals them on mine.

If you have a dirt floor in your garage (which most pole barns do), dig a channel for the trailer tires a foot down, and you should fit in ok.

I have the same question over on the Facebook page and digging the floor out came up there also. That is just not a feasible solution .
