Default Custom cover for origo stove top

Couple weeks back we had a little "accident" and broke the glass top for the origo stove top....long story... Glass everywhere, guys be careful with these. I worried about it breaking and it did. Well, with the prices of replacements and the replacement cutting board option, I was looking at alternatives. We came up with just having a piece of corian cut and polished. Then added some corian strips and little rubber feet to keep it in place over stovetop. I remember not too long ago someone on one of these damn forums I read was asking and seemed to have this same situation. Couple pics......what do you guys think??

I like that!! The circuit board on mine broke in half so it's now not working. I really don't care if it works and was thinking of doing the same.
I was thinking of just pulling it out and adding a flat surface just to have a counter top to place things on. We will never cook in our boat other than using the microwave. Our slip is set up for that.
I can fix the cook top when I get ready to sell it.
