Default Correct way to stow anchor

I have a 1999 Maxum 2400 SCR. The anchor has a chain, but I cannot seem to get it tight enough so that it does not move when stowed under the bow of the boat. Attached are some pictures, thanks. Thoughts?

Part of the issue is the style of anchor you’ve chosen. The short shank on that style changes the angle on how it sits when stowed. Secondly, the flukes on the anchor should not come up thru the hole, they should hook under the bow. This secures the anchor so it doesn’t flop around. Lastly, you could modify that carabiner setup serving as a devils claw. Google the term and you’ll see a number of options to secure anchor in a stowed position.

Thanks I'll take a look at this.

Note; that is the anchor that came with the boat when I purchased it, what type or size anchor is standard for this boat?

You need a short piece of line attached to the anchor to pull it up and cleat it off.

Yes a bigger Danforth anchor might help with your fit. Also look into a device that will keep your anchor and chain tight . Almost like a come along sometimes they are called anchor tensioner will help. Even to use a couple bungee cords would help. Whatever you decide you attach it to your chain and then to the cleat .

Good luck

I have a 95 2400SCR and I use a 13 pound Danforth and I have to use something to keep the anchor tight.
Nothing really works well to keep it from rattling.
Just the way things are.
