Default Console Alarm

I have a 2005 Maxum 3100SCR. I am a new owner. The boat runs great after a little work. Only problem is that every time I hit 3500 RPM I get an alarm. All gushes are good. I can find nothing. The alarm goes not stop until I drop below 3500 RPM. Anyone have any ideas? Could the previous owner have set some kind of alarm not wanting to exceed 3500 RPM. Everything I read says you cannot manually set an alarm.

Thanks Dave

What engines do you have? Carburetor or fuel injected?

Either have a mechanic read out the fault codes or buy the Ridna tool and do it yourself. ~$600.
