Where is the mold? You can buy a spray to get rid of the mold at any home depot or lowes. Mainly bleach and water solution. Buy some damp rid or put buckets of charcoal inside.

Welcome aboard

Are you trying to control moisture durning winter storage, all the time? Is there mold already?

Durning storage damp rid is common as most do not have power to run a dehumidifier. If you have power and can empty it regurally a dehumidifier will work.

Scott first welcome aboard! Second you are in the same winter weather storage situation I am . On my 3000 I shrink wrap for outdoor storage and this is what I do with great results. I have 6 vents on the shrink wrap. Make sure everything is vented vented and vented. I put dryer sheets in the cabin , keep the frig door open and close the cabin door. I have not used the damp packs but have in my basement and know they do work. I also do the same in the cockpit too. The canvas, Bimini top and snap in carpet are all in my finished basement and not in the boat. No mold , no smell issues what so ever. Even if you get in door storage remember to keep it vented. I will wipe the cabin down with the lysol type wipes also to prevent anything.

Hopes this helpsite

During boating season by running your a/c that will take care of that.

Moved from "Welcome Mat | New Member Introductions" to General. I had accidentally renamed it when i was trying to split a post that was hijacking the thread. I accidentally renamed the thread. I couldn't remember what was titled, so I re-titled it as "Condensation and Mold" (Apologies).

Solar hatch vents will do very well at reducing condensation. Running the A/C will help as well. We also use large buckets of damp rid and replace them through the season.

I recently replaced my a.c. with this: http://www.marinaire.com/Marine-air-...-p/msba9k2.htm

It has a dehumidify setting! I love it!

Over winter I leave one of those small oil heaters left on low so it provides sufficient heat is dispel and condensation. They are safe and pose no fire risk. Occasionally I will use two one topside and the other in the cabin. They are inexpensive and safe. No problems with mold ever again.
