Cool bravo 3 oil monitor

Has any one changed the thru hull fitting by removal the e clip?????I can't see it to remove it .The plastic fitting is cracked and will leak oil.Should I just bypass the bottle monitor and cap the oil line .thanks

Yes you bypass the lube monitor plug both ends and carry on. The motor has to be moved forward or out to undo the e clip and replace the fitting .That is from a merc mechanic .They changed the designed in newer motors mine is a 2002 5.7 bravo3 .
