Default Boating Adventures to Share

Hello Maxum owners. I know it's been a strange start to the season with Covid 19 shutting down the world but with things relaxing a bit has anyone had a chance to get out there?

I've taken my boat out a couple times with each time resulting in repairs. I guess working the winter bugs out! Last weekend however I took the boat out and everything ran great. I anchored in a nearby cove for the night with my wife and another couple and had a blast living on the boat. Had a few bottles of wine some beer and some great food while enjoying the beauty of nature and the sea. Hope others have had an opportunity so far to enjoy their boat. Stay healthy!

My season is shot until Sept. I put the boat in the slip a couple months ago and then they closed the lake so i went up and put it back in storage (much cheaper). Even though the lake is back open we don't boat during the summer season due to the heat and d-bag wake boats.... We'll splash in Sept and use it until probably mid Nov and then again in the spring.

Enjoy your season, looks like a nice place. Where are you boating?

That's too bad about your season. My boat's in Warwick RI. Great places to go in Narragansett bay. Not far from Cape Cod.

FWIW: Bake your bacon on a wire rack on a cookie sheet at home (320f), pat out grease and let it cool. Then toss it into a zip lock. Then all you need to do is heat it back up again once you're on the boat. We vac-pack ours in portions for two people and throw the vac packs into the freezer and pull them out as we need them. It works great whether you microwave it, or heat in a pan. Less work and mess when you're on the boat, plus the bacon comes out perfectly flat. Then you have it for whatever, like on sandwichs for lunch. Or grilled cheeses for dinner.

Great idea! This was home smoked bacon from a friend of mine so I was trying to get the full flavor/texture etc from freshly cooking it but you're correct, it does take some patience to manage the grease and not make a mess. Plus cleanup after isn't a lot of fun. But it was some of the best bacon I've ever had!

I'll have to try it ... once at least.

Some times I add diced mushrooms to the cream cheese.

In Falmouth for the 4th.

Then made our way to Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard. Stopped to snap a picture of the Jaws bridge.

Great time. Only issue was lost a raw water pump just as I was entering our Marina coming home. All part of the game I guess.

Better to lose it as you are returning home than as you are departing for your trip.... Not being familiar with the area, how much distance did you cover?
