Default Boat speed

Hello all!

I'm just wondering? How fast do ya'll boats go?

Also how fast do you reckon a 17ft Maxum will go with 200hp? 1700mf 1996

what size prop and what is your gear ratio?
My 2100 with 5.0 would get close to 50. But I don't really know because I'd lose my nerve around 44 mph.

My 2900 SE hit 44 MPH on WOT during Marine Survey phase, but I never take it much above 30 MPH at all. I usually just try to get up on plane around 25 - 27 MPH and leave it at that. The 2nd in Command would prefer about 8.0 MPH, but that is a whole different story.

I would need to check. But let's say an optimum prop for speed. The 5.0 makes 260 hp, right? Although it is a larger boat 17ft vs 21ft, so I imagine that would make a huge difference.

Shaft horsepower is not something I/O manufactures typically provide. Additionally "boat constant" is unknow to the general public.

I have one boat that does roughly 8-10 MPH. I have another boat that will top out at roughly 30 mph.
