Default Boat Cover/Carpet Snap Repair

I have 3 snaps that have stripped out of the deck that snap my carpet down.

I've tried filling the hole with a 3M marine adhesive and it lasts for awhile but all three have pulled back out.

What is the best way to fix this?

thanks!

ok..ok......first off....you need to fill the holes with FG and resin mix or epoxy....then drill the hole after it's set and you've sanded it smooth....

then squirt some silicon 3m4200 into the hole and run a new screw and snap in.....done!!.....

howzat??..

Thank you! Do you know if the FG and resin is something I should look for at a marine store or can I get it at the local autoparts store? If I go the epoxy route, is there any paticular kind I should get?

there is repair kits at marine stores for about 10-20 bucks.....go to your local west marine and ask them..they should point you in the right place...

as for FG...FG is FG...either one will do the same...just make sure you mix the resin properly......too much fixer and it sets before your ready...too little and it won't set at all...
