You are talking two different things here. Shore power is AC voltage with line 1 and line 2. Typically line 2 is for the air conditioning only while line 1 feeds all other AC items, microwave, outlets, refrigerator, batter charger.
The battery selector switch is DC voltage for cabin lights, engine, radios, refrigerator when not on shore power. Leaving the switch on one battery lonely isolates the other battery from being discharged is something is left on. However IMO there is no need to leave the switch on either battery while away and shore power is on.
