What do you have now? Do you have two batteries or just one? Do you have lots of 12v accessories? What size engine do have? Answers these questions and will figure this out.

And welcome aboard

Group 24. No less that 525 CCA.

I just use two starting batteries but I just Day cruise.

If you overnight or spend long days on the hook use a starting battery for position 1 and a deep cycle for batt 2. Use batt 2 while on the hook.

Moved thread from the "Buy | Sell | Trade" to the "Maxum General" sub-forum.

A Group 24 starting battery should be fine to turn over the 4.3. If I were to install a house battery, it would be a Deep Cycle battery. The bigger the better. If you're connected to shore power when you're away from teh boat, then I would opt for an AGM. A Group 31 would make a good sized house battery.

It really depends on how long you intend on being disconnected such as at anchor or on a mooring. Even then it really depends on how many amps you plan on burning. Will you be running the stereo all day, or just keeping the fridge cold?

On my 2400 only group 24 will fit the location.

There is room on the starboard side to relocate next to the holding tank.
