Awaiting the water
Well, I just had to post that I’m dying to get the boat done and on the water, this has felt like the longest winter in my life!!! We bought our boat last year and have only used it about 4 times and now I’ve spent 7 months doing nothing but work on it. We decided to go all in and rent a slip for the summer at the lake 7 minutes from where we live....(I have driven there 3 times now just to look at where the boat is going to be). Call me what you will.
Just some thoughts....

Not that odd at all. I think the slip is a good idea. I swear that the reason so many trailer boats sit unused and slowly rot is specifically because trailering blows. It's great for a while but then starts to get old. Soon the boat only gets used on only the nicest days and only if you're going to have long enough to justify the hassle.
In the spring, we always take a walk down the dock and stand there looking at an empty slip. Admittedly, usually to take a break from working on the boat in the marina yard.

Killin me, just killin me.. :-) I have been to the new marina twice just to look at it. still cold other that a day here and there...
I have so many thing to do but, have to wait for the marina to do the gel coat fix and wax so I can get started. Admittedly, fun stuff such as electronics, swim platform etc. still, will take time prior to getting into the water though. Hope the weather breaks soon...

I too am dying to get back on the water. My wife and I drove over to our marina on Sunday just to look around and say hello to the owners and the few hardcore house boaters who are already on their boats. Its fun to look at the marina without all the boats and people.
Countdown to boat launch 17 days

I agree, it is fun to go when it's quiet and there are only a few faint voices coming from the docks...
My launch date keeps getting pushed due to the cold..(Can't make the repairs under 50 degrees is what I have been told)

It will be at least June 1st before we get ours in the slip as the lake hasn’t even come up and then we have to wait for all the logs and other fun things that flow in from the river to pass buy which takes a couple weeks......driving me crazy though!!

No Tellin' may I ask which ramp you use to launch? I am planning on using CDA Resort's ramp, around the 3 May, or my next window isn't until 26 May
I would rather put in at Blackwell Island, but it will not be open yet.

MoonRiver, are you going to be headed to Conkling? You can launch at Sun Up or at Conkling. I think we are going to use Conkling to put in again and Sun Up next fall to take out.
