Default Anchor Windlass

Hello, I have a Maxum 2400 and wanted to add anchor windlass to my boat. I was looking for recommendations of which anchor system would work best. I was told by my local marine store that the Pro Fish 700 would be a good fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you John

Welcome aboard.

Not familiar with that brand. You will need to pick and anchor that's best suited for the bottom where you boat. Windless are like cars all brands are loved and hatted by different folks. IMO pick one rated for you size boat and lube it per the recommended maintance guidelines.

Another more important thing is when pulling up the anchor use the boat to move up on where it is set instead of having the windless do the work as the manufactures recommend this.

Pro Fish 700 is the model made by Lewmar. Vertical windlass will require more space in the anchor locker. Horizontal windlasses can be used if there is limited space in the anchor locker.
