Thumbs up alarms and warnings for your boat..

ok...I've been beating my head for yrs ...ever since I was boarded one nite by a couple of kids who were obviously looking for beer......
so...I've been looking around and checking prices but finally found something that is inexpensive and might just work...since my boat is so large...and if someone was to board us....we wouldn't know it down in the salon...so...I was wandering around "Harbor Freight" and found something that might work....it's a wireless alarm system...has 2 door sensors and a main unit...operates on both a 9vdc batt or 120vac and small button batt's.....the 2 door sensors can be mounted by screws or double sticky tape..the main unit has a panic button or a code you can program....
..the cool thing is it was under 20 bucks......

I'll let you know how it works out for us.....

Steve, get us a SKU or picture... I have the same fear on our boat when down in the salon or our cabin. And I LOVE Harbor Freight stores, amazing prices and lots of cool stuff there.

yeah....harbor freight is just crazy cool with stuff that's cheap....if they break..their cheap enough to toss and get another one....great stuff for the boat...if they fall overboard...just get another....

Interesting, so where are you planning on mounting it? And I wonder if the 16' range for motion-detection will detect motion on the other side of the Eisenglass... if, for instance... you're at the dock and someone walks by real close to Wild Whim. I'm curious about false alarms is what I mean.

I'll let you know how it goes..I'm assuming you can turn that function off.....
it comes with 2 door sensors so I was gonna install those at the transom door and use the chime function...like when you enter a door on a business and it chimes.....

might use the other door sensor either on the fwd access hatch or the main door into the salon....I can't use the motion detector due to 2 dogs on board...they have a tendancy of walking around at nite...
