Default Advice needed/2003 2500 SE possible purchase

Hi all...new here. I will be doing a sea trial of this boat later today. It is listed with low hours on a 5.7 Mercruiser Bravo 3. The owner is asking $22,500...is this a fair price? The listing says it is in good condition but the AC and hot water heater are not working...not sure why but I will ask. I would appreciate advice on what I should be looking for in general with this boat and what might be the repair issues and costs regarding the AC/heater. I own an old Sea Ray and have a decent knowledge of boats but I would like to draw on the expertise of the Maxum forum community...thanks in advance,
Al

Not sure where you are located so it’s hard to give advice on the price. I typically look at similar boats for sale on yachtworld and other sites to get an idea what they are selling for. I take a IR temp sensor and shoot reading of the engine and exhaust components to get accurate temperatures. Check the look of the engine oil and drain a little gear lube to see how they look. You could pay to have a mechanic look at the items not working for an estimate to use as a bargaining chip. Hiring a surveyor is always a good idea.

Thanks Mike...I'm at the Jersey shore. If I like the boat after the sea trial I do plan on having a surveyor do an examination.

I sold a 1997 2800 5 years ago for $18,500. It was also in excellent condition.
I think your price is high, but boats and RV's are selling for ridiculously high numbers since Covid.

I wouldn't be in the market for a boat or RV right now. The market is artificially inflated and will correct. When it does many people will be upside in the boats.
