Default AC question

1998 maxum 2800 scr
Single 454 ci bravo 3 carbed.
Owned since 2014 and love it!

Question:
I have an original Marine Air systems AC which is 7,000 btu.
It works good overnight but during the day it really struggles and doesn’t really cool down the cabin. My ac buddy verified R22 charge and operation and found all to be normal.
Seems to be slightly undersized?
I’m considering the Marin air 9,000 btu.
See link.
Anyone have any luck with this brand? Or recommend one? Any one use yacht air marine.com?

https://yachtaidmarine.com/shop/mari...110-120v-60hz/

Also current ac water pump gets pretty hot. It that normal? Will prob replace with new ac but don’t want a safety issue until then.
Any info or advise appreciated.

I just installed a new Marineair 6,000 BTU in my 2400SCr. Works amazing. Even in 90 degree bright sun. I bought my unit directly from MarinAire. Don't know much about YachtAid, but I always go to the source if I can and no cost difference. Why involve a middleman. Also got the pump they recommended and HIGHLY suggest the flow switch if you don't have one already. Saved my pump 6 times already. Mine was a brand new install as I didn't have AC before. But very very happy with it.
