Default A few questions from a new member.

Hi there

I've just got my first Maxum, a 1997 2400 SC (also labeled 10 Anniversary Edition). It was swapped with a Bayliner a few weeks ago, and I'm quite happy with the Maxum so far. I'm living in the southern part of Norway, and as the weather has been very nice here now, the boat has been in use every day.

So to my questions:
- The speed gauge has two scales; miles and km/h. Does anyone now if there is a scale with knots available also?
- What kind of anchor do you use in the bough? There is a slot for an anchor, but the anchor itself is missing on my boat.
- Has anybody any experience on installing installed electric anchorwinch (in front and aft) on such boat? Which models will fit?

regards Terje

welcome to the zoo...the 2400 is a nice pocket cruiser...
first off...the speedo gauge is set to mph/kph....they don't make a knots per hr speedo...the actual difference is 1.5 mph per knot....so..1.5mph per not....

the anchor can be different due to the type of bottom your anchoring in..so..the most usual type is about 25ft of chain..and a danforth type anchor...or another popular type is a plow type...there are several manufacturers..

putting an anchor windlass is fairy involved...most people use a lewmar...not sure which ones are avail. in your neck of the woods...
I've seen 2400's with lewmars before....so..it can be done!..I think they installed the lewmar 700.....

hope this helps...
