7.4 l RPM

Hi all
I have problem in getting my engine from idle to gear,It stalls out on me every time I shift throttlefrom idle to gear

1) can someone tell me what should be the idle RPM for 7.4 l no gear
2) what should be the idle RPM in forward gear
3) how to check regulator if its working I have a Belmar regulator

welcome to the zoo....idle should be about 600-650 rpm...when in gear it should be about 550 rpm...depending on load...

what regulator are you talking about???....not sure what regulator is installed....
