Default 3100se speedometer

The speedometer on my 3100se quit working and now that the boat is out of the water I started troubleshooting. The boat has twin 5.0 with Bravo 2 drives. The holes on the front of the drives are clean, but I noticed the speedometer tube fitting on the starboard drive was disconnected, the one on the port drive was connected properly. Now the question should both be connected on twin engine layouts and then "y" together somewhere in the boat or is only on drive used on twins? I realize the speedometers are not very accurate but I would like it to work.
Thanks all!

I believe they both need to be connected. My speedometer wasn't working on my 3300 but it was due to the holes on the outdrives being clogged. After cleaning the holes and connecting the tubes the boat went in the water and the speedometer still wasn't working. I noticed water dripping out the dash. The tube wasn't connected to the guage. I reconnected the tube and now it works. Just something else to check.
