3000 SCR Cabin Door Lock
Sorry if this is a duplicate post. My first post disappeared.
Hello fellow Maxum owners. I'm so glad I found this forum because I'm stumped! I have a 97 3000 SCR and t I'd like to be able to lock up my GPS and valuables when away from the boat but the cabin door has no lock from the factory. It has the mechanism on the sliding top that secures the top and door shut but no way to lock it. Does anybody know where I can get a locking mechanism or some way to rig it up so it locks. Much appreciated.

First RxPad welcome aboard! As a proud owner of a 01 3000 scr I know exactly what your talking about but don't know if you will like what I say......
First you didn't mention a key , need a key to lock the top slide to the two fold door. On the two fold door on the bottom you have a foot jam that goes up to unlock and down to lock . On the top of the two fold door is your lock and work great with a key. Go to Maxum parts and you might find a replacement with key. I am not sure how to just get just a key.
I am trying to remember the key lock manufacturer, that might be stamped on the back side of lock. If you do Google that and go from there.
Good luck
Roger

Thank you so much! I'm having trouble finding anything with part # 4521 on southco but looking at the part on boatoutfitters, it is exactly what I need.

Update on this. I ordered a new lock per some great responses to this thread. When I received it, I realized it was exactly like the one on there and the knob that I thought was just a knob... was in fact a key. I had a lock the entire time and never realized!
So if anybody has the need for a cabin door lock. I have an extra!

Congratulations on solving the problem!!! Why not just return the purchased item or toss it into a box of spares?

Hi All, I am new to the Maxum Community, and very excited. We are facing the same lock issue with the 2001 3300 SCR. The part looks to be the same as for the 3000, do you know if this will work for a 3300 as well?
