Default 2900 SCR freshwater holding tank drain

Hi All,

Hopefully everyone is out enjoying this labor day weekend but just in case someone is lurking around the forum, I have a question on how to drain the freshwater holding tank on a 2001 2900SCR. Originally I was intending to run the faucets but thats over 30 gallons. Is that the only way or is there a valve somewhere? Thnaks in advance.

yep..that's the only way to drain the FWT....sorry.to say..but...turn the water pump on..and then open every faucet..

we're sticking close to home this weekend...weather turned south..so there was no point in going out and being miserable...

hope your weekend is doing well...and to everyone else...happy labor's day here in the US...

SP :hello:

Don't forget to drain the hot water tank. That will still be full when the FW tank is empty.

Where is the water heater drain Shrew? Does it also get filled separately from the fresh water?

When I got the boat the water coming out of the taps smelled worse than the head so what I've done so far is to drain it completely, add a solution of bleach and fresh water and filled the tank up, left that for about 12 hours and ran it through both galley and head taps. If you could have seen what came through the lines, it would have made you sick. It was like a sewer! Anyway, did that twice, then did the same thing another three times with just fresh water and everything looks (and smells) a lot nicer now.

The only thing I didn’t get to was the shower at the transom. I turned that on to flush it out and all I got was the bilge working so I'm assuming the line is broken which I will have to get to next week.

I'm also looking for a dealer that can ship part. I've called the local one here in Atlanta. I've had two conversations and a promise to call back and during the second, they told me to email and still nothing. I need some keys cut for the cabin and a couple extra things only the dealers going to have.

Thanks for all the help.

I know your in atlanta...but my parts guy is great...call him if your having problems getting keys and he can drop ship them directly too you...
425-347-6000....he needs the number on the side of the key and will drop ship them directly.......Jim is a great guy..don't tell him I said that...haha...

as for the water..after you have run the water a bit..pour about a cup of white vinegar into the tank..it will keep it smelling better...
