Default 2400scr steering slop

Hi,

I have a 96 scr2400 and I notice there is about 10 degrees of steering where the drive doesn’t move at all.

I pulled out the panel and had a look at the steering rack and it seems that where the cable joins the rack the “sheath” of the cable is not very tight on the rack so essentially the whole cable with sheath moves rather than just the inner cable causing the problem.

I took a video of it here : https://youtube.com/shorts/eklkR1mwFBQ?feature=shared

Anyone know how to tighten this up please? I could not see any way to do it or adjustment.

Thanks

Olly

You need to replace the steering cable which comes with the rack portion of the rack and pinion steering.
