Default 2400 SCR Refrigerator

The refrigerator in my 2001 2400SCR has gone bad and needs replaced, was able to pull it out however it won’t fit out the cabin door or the escape hatch. Did the builder assemble the top of the boat after the fridge was installed. Not sure how I’m going to get it out or install new one I’ve purchased.

Welcome aboard.

yes boat builders install the interiors prior to mating the upper hull.

Try removing the door from the frig to see if it will fit through the door.

Agreed, much of the cabin is assembled BEFORE they marry the deck to the hull, however the fridge isn't one of those items. It will fit out the cabin hatch. I seriously doubt it would fit out the deck hatch.

I agree, you will probably need to remove the door and the mounting brackets for the door in order to get it out. Also see if you can gain some space by removing the coil on the back.

Have the same boat! Had the same problem. Only way out is to remove the door and then the compressor and everything off the back, including the cooling fins and inside the fridge out the back. Whats the issue with it though? I was able to fix mine.

link to my fix here.

I was able to get it out the size 60 deck hatch, ID of the deck hatch is 19”x19”. After removing door, compressor, coils and mounting flange/bracket it just fit out. The whole fridge is bad, rusted out, broken door and bad compressor, not worth repairing.

How did you get the new unit into the cabin?
