Default 2002 Maxum 3300scr speed

Looking at a2002 Maxum 3100 SCR. 5.7 lt Bravo III. Broker spec says the boat cruises at 26 mph. I looked at several sites for sale and speeds range from 30 mph to 46 mph and cruising speeds from 20 mph to 30 mph. From experience, can anyone give a better insight on speed. I like to travel a lot and I like to cruise at 29 to 30 mph

I have a 2800 that I typically cruise at 23-26 kts (25.3 - 28.6 mph) I think the 26mph is reasonable. Water conditions, current or tide are going to play into that number alot. Not a ton of difference in speeds. It'll compound in hours. The difference of 15-20 min. over 2 hours? I wouldn't want to be flogging her for 3 hours at 30 mph.

I own a 2000 3300SCR with twin 5.7 Bravo II and I would say the "sweet spot" is 32 mph. That is burning roughly 1 gallon per mile. Good luck.

Funny I was just going thru some old Boating Mags and the 3100 was in one of them. Yes she has twins and from what I recall ~28 mph was the optimal cruise speed.

my '95 3200 scr cruises at about 29mph at 3400 rpm, she has twin 5.7L with Bravo IIs.
boat is somewhat loaded (gas tank less than half full, water tank almost full, holding tank somewhat full, 2 adults, 3 kids, some cooler, and fridge pretty full, all adds to weight).
Also, I have I normally dont take down all the eisenglass when cruising either, just the mid-window and I open/unzip the captain's side. Probably adds drag.
Many variables can change your cruising speed.

Got out yesterday and was running nicely at 3600rpm and 30-31mph. Water was very calm, little wind, and top was on. Don't know if Bravo II and III would give different results.
