2001 Maxum 2350 thruster/"Control Max" problem

Hello to all.

I'm new to the board and a new owner of an old Maxum noted above. My boat was recently delivered to me. I replaced the original three 12volt 33ah batteries on the port side. They are in a 36 volt sequence and they operate the two stern and one bow thruster that came with the boat.

When the key is in the on position and the "Control Max" toggle switch on the dash is switched to ON, you can move you joystick and all you hear is a loud alarm that almost sounds like a warning alarm. The thrusters do nothing and you can hear a clicking coming from the gray relay box on the port side rear.

I don't have an owners manual and cant figure out if I'm just doing something wrong or if I have thruster/relay problems. I called Maxum customer care and they said they installed the option for that model but all the components were manufactured by Mercruiser.

Hopefully one of you Maxum guru's can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

We also have a 2001 2352NV with thrusters. There are two ckt breakers/switches installed. one on each side of the aft engine compartment on the forward bulkhead. These breakers have a red trip button and a side switch. Try setting the switch on each side of the breakers. The alarm is normal for this system and is a warning that the thrusters are engaged.
