Default 1995 Maxum 1700SR

I just bought my first boat and I am in the process of changing some parts, particularly the prop.

It has a 4.3L engine with an alpha stern drive. Currently installed is a 3 bladed prop with a few nicks and dents.

I read in one of the threads of how good the HI 5 prop is and wanted to know what HI 5 pitch prop to buy if the primary purpose is pulling a wakeboarder and Sea toys.

Welcome aboard

I would use Mercruisers prop calculator to see what it recommends.

More blades equates to a better bite in the water however that also means less slippage for a holeshot so the engine will be slower to rev. A 4.3 should have enough torque but you will need to pick a prop with the right pitch and diameter to not overload the engine.
