Default What is this vent for or where does it go?

There is vent or intake in the galley and not sure what it's for. Any help is appreciated. I believe its for the large black hose in my second picture which goes to the fwd head I think?? but why.

It's not an AC vent, nothing comes out of it.

I'm asking because the plastic housing behind the vent is not flush with the wall. It has come off (screws out) and I can smell a faint foul smell coming from that area. I believe if the housing is removed its basically the same air as the "utility room" with the holding tanks which would explain the smell.

It's is one of the FWD AC air outlets. You will have to turn on the FWD AC.

Ah ok, this would explain why nothing came out when I turned the aft air on. Weird they call that "fwd air" when its anything but fwd.

thank you

The aft A/C unit cannot keep the salon cool without this extra bit of air. The fwd unit does the staterooms and the galley
