Default Side Letters

Hi All,
New 95 Maxum 3200 SCR owner here! My first (of many I'm sure) questions is can the embossed side lettering be found anywhere for replacement.....or has anyone removed them and painted them or reconditioned them in any way? Mine are intact, but I assume at one time they were like a mirrored gold and now they are just faded and ugly! I was thinking if I couldn't find new ones I could maybe remove them and try to paint them or something and stuck them back on with trim adhesive or double sided tape.... Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Mike

Welcome aboard and congrats on the new to you boat

great lakes skipper may have them as they bought up surplus stock.

some here have removed them and left it that way or replaced with custom stickers from any place that does boat graphics

The ones on my 4600 were a bit hit and miss, I looked at getting replacements made but at the end of the day I removed them and actually think it looks better. The letters were dated and style was dated, however, I might replace it with some st/steel letters in the future.

Thanks Everyone, some great ideas! I looked at GLS and they don't have any of the gold sets left, so for now I'm thinking I'm just going to remove them and decide later... Of those of you that removed them, what's the easiest way to do it, I figure heat up with heat gun and pry off with a plastic putty knife.
Thanks again for the input!

I used a knife blade, carefully! Once I'd lifted a corner they came off quite easily.

One point I remember, I don't know how old your boat is but the fibreglass under the letters hasn't been exposed to the sun for the last x years. After I had removed the letters I had to buff the section with a polisher to remove the "shadow" of the letters.

I should have taken some pictures at the time.
