Default Quick silver throttle / gear selector

i have just bought a 3200 SCR with these dual controls . The controls have a throttle only button which I assume locks out the forward reverse feature. Where can I find an instruction on how this is supposed to work.

Yep the button when pressed disengages the shift cable. Not sure what else you need to know.

You owned a boat before with a serndrive?

Basically press button to advance throttle, give two pumps.
Leave advanced a little
Start engine.
Adjust throttle to get 1000 rpm
After a few minutes return to neutral position.
Let the engine warm up for a few minutes
Advance throttle to be on your way. Assumes you have cast off lines.

You'll need to do this for both engines of course.

Oh yea run blower before starting.

This is my first powerboat not my first boat. I guess I was curious about how to leave engine in idle or lower rpm and then maneuver (dock) with the props leaving the rudder amidships or in this case wheel centered.

Got it.

With pure inboards you have separate throttles from the gear shifts and can set the throttle to what ever rpm you want while working the gear shifts to maneuver the boat.

With I/Os the throttle and gear shifts are combined so you are working them together. If you put the port throttle in forward at 1000 rpm and the starboard throttle in reverse at 1000 rpm the boat will spin clockwise. The pivot point is further aft with I/Os since the props are further aft. I recommend you find an open cove and practice working the throttles this way to get a hand on how she responds.
