No thats my point. I think you get more from your 350 than we get from the 7.4 although we have more HP.

Ya know I stand corrected Maxum Gang. When I make a mistake I want to point it out:
I stated the HP difference between the 350 MAG MPI and the 454 MPI as being 20-30 (up to 2006).

It's..............Drum roll Please..................................

only 10. and with that unbridled 20 more ponies collected with twins you gain the HEFT of 243 extra pounds per mill for a total of 486 pounds more engine weight with a paltry 20 HP Gain. What THA!!

Like I said before, the T350 MAG MPI's/ BIII's are the favored power/propulsion package for the 3300SCR.

The 454's excell at getting the boat on plane faster than the 350's; I'd guess that the diff is 2 or 3 seconds.

HP is what gets you top end but torque is what allows those big girls pull up their skirts and start to run. While the "standard" 454 may only make 10 HP more than the 350 MAG it makes a, wait for it.......boat load more torque - probably approaching close to 100 Ft/Lb more. If you could safely twist a 454 to 5000-5200 RPM (and you can, but requires stout valve springs) it'll certainly hang with a higher RPM engine like the 350M.

Anyone have a photo or video of one of these 3300's running close to 50 SOG with any engine package? Google/Youtube is failing me.....

Hp per pound of engine my boy, Hp per pound of engine. Facts are stubborn things.
454 MPI @ 1189 lbs. divided by 310 hp = 3.83 lbs per HP
vs.
350MAG MPI @ 989 lbs. 3.15 lbs per HP

A difference of Wait for it, .68 lbs mor for each pony produced. So Suffice it to say "Dan" The mouse ATE the RAT!

Torque will help you haul that extra 490 lbs around (or as I like to think of it, three more crew aboard that hang around like inlaws that never leave!).

An you speak of what experience owning a 3300SCR with T350MAG MPI's?

Call me when you get one, I'm in the book.

P.S. SP you are eerily silent on this one? is this thing on?
