Default Maxum 3700 Hull Strength

I am wondering if any one has had a similar problem to my boat. We have a maxum 3700 SY. We have owned it since April 08. The boat has had some serious issues with the hull. In August 09 when I had the second anti fowl done it was revealed that a large section of the hull was very thin and had cracked. The vessel was repaired and core samples taken. Unfortunately it’s now happened again. This time we will be seeking independent advice. Point being it looks like the hull is very thin causing the cracking. This if happened in the water could be catastrophic. Has any one had a similar problem?

What is the nature and degree of the cracking? Are we talking about spider cracks in the gelcoat? This cracking hasn't transferred all the way through the fiberglass itself has it? Are you getting elevateed moisture level readings? How was the original issue repaired? Any pics?

"Has any one had a similar problem? "...not at all as far as I've ever heard...Maxum makes a really strong hull..one of the best in the industries....

I'm thinking you may have hit something....but only a guess at this point...

Hi

Turns out the hull is only 16mm thick thats within range of a maxum boat. Other boats have a lot thicker hulls I am told . Yes the crack is right through and I do have pics were should I post them?

I am getting it investigated. But so far they can not believe how thin the hull is!! From the reaction from the experts have given they, can not believe that the hull would only built to that specification.
