Unhappy lose railings 41'sca

1999 41' sca. The railings on the deck are lose, anyone tried to tighten them. Trying to find easy access area on the port side.

If they are loose they should be taken apart and rebidded to ensure leaks don't follow.

Doesn't solve his problem though. He needs to get in there either way. :-)

Agree and since I am not familiar with the model I won't try to guess at how to do so but just suggesting to rebed them to avoid a future issue once he figures out how to access the hardware.

I am sure a few 41' owners will chime in to help him.

Thanks for your reply. Maybe someone will get back to me with a fix.

Unfortunately on the 4600SCB many of the stations are next to impossible to get to. It is probably similar on the 4100SCA. You need to remove a lot of panels/cabinets to get to them. I was able to tighten a few on my starboard side behind the settee after removing some wall panels and the AC duct work. To get to my port side I'd need to remove all the cabinets. Good luck.

They are bolted with the nuts on the underside. They are usually hidden behind panels and headliners. It will more than likely require some dissambly. If the stanchion is loose, then you will need to remove it completely, clean the old caulk, then rebed. replace any rusted ss hardware at that time as well.
