Default Ignition problem

Hello all, I'm having a problem with starting the port engine on my 2003 maxum 3300. I turn the key and nothing but if I keep trying it will eventually turn over and fire up after about 5 turns off the key. My initial thought was the ignition switch may be going bad so I replaced it. Still same problem. Next I thought maybe the safety lanyard kill switch so I pulled the wires from the switch and connected them together and still have the same problem. As I said if I keep trying it will eventually crank and start but worried eventually it may not and end up leaving me stranded. I'm all out of ideas at this point. Anyone have any ideas?

Lol. I just got my 2004 2100 sad out of the shop...it was doing the same thing....there Is a part called the remote start something. I think it is like a second solenoid. It is on top of the engine ( mine was anyway). It seems to be cured now...

I had the boat in for annual service and the shop asked me about it when they had the problem... I had forgotten all about it over the winter....

Good luck!

maxum3300 what engines and drives do you have?

Sounds like the slave solenoid which is mounted next to the engine breaker on top of the engine.

Yeah, probably the slave solenoid as noted above. If you have twin engines, replace both. They're pretty inexpensive.
