Default How does a 3300 ride?

Hey everyone. We recently sold a Bayliner 3055 and I'm keeping my eye out for a new boat. One of them that has caught my eye is the Maxum 3300. Looking at the specs, it actually appears to be slightly lighter than my 3055 was. I'm trying to figure out why, and if it matters.

If you have a 3300, how does it handle chop? As long as it's not any rougher than my Bayliner was I don't mind. But it seems odd that a boat who's LOA is 5 feet longer would have comparable weight.

I appreciate the insight!

What year is the Bayliner 3055?

What year is the Maxum 3300?

I wouldn't expect one to ride any better or worse than the other. Many Bayliners and Maxum's are built in the same factories by the same employees using the same materials and techniques.

I had a 99 Bayliner with 5.7s. I'm looking at a few 3300s, but the one that I'm most interested in is a 2005 with 5.7s.

bored and poking through older posts ... still looking?

I have an 03 3300 that I've owned since 2016 and finally got in the water last season (long story). Not sure where you plan on using it, but I ran mine 30ish hours around Barnegat Bay and Egg Harbor in NJ. I thought it rode great, but this is my first boat of this size and type so I have a limited frame of reference as an operator. Prior boats were all lake boats that ranged from 18 to 23 feet. I'd imagine a few additional feet of loa would give some improvement over your 30?
