Default Horn Location 4100 / 4600

Hi all - the horn has finally died on my 4600 SCB. I have located it (them) pretty much under the spotlight on the bow visor. However I have now removed the grate that covers them and cannot figure out how to remove? I can just get my hand in the front but that cold not possibly be how they were installed. Any ideas guys? I am thinking of removing the spotlight but I have a feeling if I take that off, there will only be a small hole for the power cable going into the visor.

Not familiar with this model so I can’t provide much help. When the boat was built the horn was installed before the lower and upper parts of the hull were mated together. Do you have an anchor locker? Any access from there?

Hi Mike - boat was built in 2000. The horn is under the visor and almost directly below the spotlight. There is no way it went in through the small hole cutout that had the cover in front of the horn..attached is a pic of the location.

Is there an access panel under the helm that leads forward to the area?

Go to bridge deck, lift lounger seat back on port side, empty this compartment, remove the inner felt covered plastic panels, crawl in with a light and you will find the dual horns. Not too bad if you’re not way big.

wow - found it! thanks for that. You would have to be a snake to get to it though. Will wire up a new one 'near' it. Thanks for the location advice!!!
