Default Fuel level sensor

I sure this has been asked before, but here goes, I want to replace erratic factory fuel level sensor with a more accurate magnetic type but need to know tank depth on my 2004 3100SE and can't get to the boat til spring. Anyone know depth or what brand to use?
Thanks for any info

Not sure of the depth, but can offer up that I believe the OEM sender is a magnetic type.

Have you ruled out bad connections or the gauge as the source of erratic readings? Mine was a little bouncy and it went away after cleaning the connections at the sender as well as under the dash.

If it needs replacement, I usually will remove it and check the Ohm range to be sure the replacement will match to the gauge.
