Default Engine room lights

So I have just bought a 2000 4100SCA. Bought in October, and immediately stored for the winter. Starting to do work on the boat, and I have figured almost everything out, except how to turn on the lights in the engine room. Any help? Next step without help would be to follow the wires, just trying to save myself some engine room yoga!

Thanks

If there is a lower helm, then I would check there. IF there is not, then I would check on the DC panel.

No lower helm, nothing on the DC breaker panel for engine lights. There must be a switch somewhere!

Hi Eamonn, When you go down the stairs into the Living Room from the outside cockpit, go toward the stairs that lead to the rear birth (rear bed room). On the lower left side by your left caff, there is a cabinet door. Inside are the main DC power switches for the battery power to the engines, a bunch of DC fuses (bilge, windless, etc) and a small-red rocker switch, about in the middle of the cabinet. That is the DC engine room on/off switch. It powers several bulbs at different locations inside the engine room. Unless they have been changed recently, they are probably burnt-out. Good luck.

Welcome to the world of the 4100 SCA there are a few of us here.

My engine room lights have a switch on the battery barrel switch panel (just starboard of the stairs leading to the aft cabin). I'm not sure if it's an previous owner installed switch, or standard (we're in a 1999).
