Default Dock side water hook up

I am thinking of installing some type of dock side water hookup to my 99 3200scr instead of using the fresh water tank. Has anyone installed a kit or designed there own system to work? Just looking for some sugestions and the best inststall.

I'm surprised you don't have an garden hose connection for your water.

I wish I did. I was going to install a regulator for dock side. Just wanted to see if anyone installed a system themselves and what they used. I love my boat and just want to make sure she has the best hookup

go to westmarine.com and look for dockside water systems...I know I've seen them at our local westmarine so I know they exist..unfortunately I don't remember the cost..it consists of water hose.....the end fitting and I believe the check valve to prevent the water system from charging the water tank...

if you still can't find it..I'll see if I can find it for you..

Hi rjrcmr03,
I used to have dockside hookup on my 3200. It was located at the bottom of the chord locker-silly place.
I bought a flush mount dockside regulator and installed it on the transomClick image for larger version

I've also installed a whole house filter in the bilge right after the regulator.

I would warn that you make sure to turn off BOTH the inlet valve on the boat AND the valve on the dock whenever you leave the boat. I would even do so before I went to sleep. A garden hose will more than likely fill the bilge faster than a bilge pump can evacuate it. Any failure in the system can sink the boat at the dock.

Did you ever get this installed? I am the process of doing this also on my 95 3200 scr. Is there anything I need to do other then install the inlet fitting on the transom and connect it to the cold water supply? I've been told that the freshwater pump has a built in check valve that will keep it from charging the tank...... Is this true?

Yes, you would want to install the shore water 'T' after the water pump and accumulator tank (if installed) with a check valve between the pump and accumulator tank and the shore water 'T'.

I would consider a prv as essential for shore direct hookup.

0Gravity,

I have installed one of these immediately inside of the transom to prevent SHEW's comment of tragedy from happening (he is exactly correct). A few parts added to it and it will monitor and shut off if excessive water gets in the bidge. Still a great idea to TURN OFF the water going into the boat when not in use.

Good luck!
