Default Canvas was stolen

Hi All,

I have a friend of mine with a 1998 32scr and all his canvas was stolen right off the boat! It was only a season old. Up here in MI the boat is almost useless without and to make matters worse doesn't even have a cockpit cover available and had to resort to blue canvas and bungee cords/tape - just a horrible situation and canvas shops are 10 to 12 weeks out at this time of the year. I was thinking if anyone had any old canvas (pretty much regardless of condition) - bimini top or cockpit cover at least to be able to get something on the boat for the time would be a HUGE help. Please let me know if anyone has anything to offer for purchase or donation - thank you!

Welcome

Well that is really low, what some people will do at the expense of others.

Is his insurance covering the costs?

Maybe some one here will have some old canvas.

It's likely Insurance will cover the cost, but the bigger issue is loss of the boat for the next 3 months while the insurance is figured out and getting it done. Unfortunately vacations plans were all made already etc, can't travel without canvas.

1 camera mounted to the building, still can't get someone to view the tape. The boats a distance from the camera and its dark, only real light source is on the power pole. Not holding much hope on what can be gleaned from the recordings.

Technically there is no need to keep the cockpit tarped. Put the dash cover on and he'll be fine. Those cockpits are self-draining. The dealers keep them open when they're brand new.

It'll be a wet ride on some days, but if he chose to run at displacement speeds he would be fine. They make plenty of pop-up style canopies for day boats. The cabin is still the same. I wouldn't stop using the boat. I'd be inconvenienced, but it's still better than camping.
