Does anyone have recommendations on installing a tunnel bow thruster on a 4100 SCB. Concerned about the amount of room for the install.
Also considering an external Yacht Thruster as well.
Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated
Thanks!
Had a shot at getting one in my 35' Maxum. Plenty of room down there but would have had to cut through the storage hatch under the front bed also the boat being beamy would have required a 1.8 metre tunnel instead of the standard 1 metre. Another problem was there are two quite large stringers running forward to the bow and it would have meant cutting into them to fit the tunnel. In the end didn't want to compromise the strength of the boat so cancelled the whole idea. They are certainly well made and very strong. On another note a friend has just purchased a Searay sedan 40" and I believe they have found it too difficult to fit a bow thruster so may go with the external kit.
The other option is the type that attaches to the outside of the bow keel almost looking like a trolling motor. Google this .....the videos that i have seen makes them an alternative that might work for you.
A little late replying but...I have the same boat and had both bow and stern thrusters installed (both internal). With the bow unit, I went with the Side Power SE120/215T 24 volt. Plenty of room for the install.

How much did this run installed? What model boat do you have?
