Default Beds and Heads, Under 38FT

We're looking again.
Had a 2400SCR, now a Carver 31'.

At what model did Maxum start running the full walk around bed, and a full shower vs the sit and shower head? We spend a lot of time on the boat and these two things make a huge difference for the first mate.

Making the bed in the Carver, although larger and fixed, isn't much easier than it was in the 2400scr...

I have a 37.5' slip right now. I might not be able to get anything longer but am TRYING to convince the marina to move me one dock over to a 38-40ft slip. so for now I need to consider 37.5ft my max length...

any tips?

V-Drives are also awesome vs outdrives if possible....

While not a Maxum I have a Silverton 362 which have a separate shower, however the main berth is not an island like I think you are looking for. Maybe a Sea Ray 340? I’m not sure of the Maxum 3700 or larger.

I know I've seen it in the 3700s, they have what seem to be the absolute perfect layout for us (for a non bridged vessel). I was just hoping to find it in a model a couple feet shorter for the slip.

We're looking coincidentally at a 340 this weekend. In our region it seems like options financially run:

Sea Ray 340
Bayliner 340
Maxum 3700

in order of most to least expensive, with the only 3700s I've seen of course being older boats. the Sea Rays being around 2000-2003, and the Bayliner a 2009. Everyone says to run away from Bayliners but the 2009 340 sure is pretty and well outfitted.

you've blown my mind a bit. I was shopping newer than 2000 and Silverton was not on my radar, but I just pulled up a '95 362 and it's nearly perfect in every way. especially with the steps to the bridge vs ladder, so a dog could join you. I almost wish you hadn't told me about it! and it's $30k ish under what I'm shopping which means money in the bank for repair/upgrade/emergency...

hmmm...

do you know your TRUE loa, tip to tip? Love that bow line without the long pulpit as well.

The Silverton 363 has a LOA of 36’ 1”. The molded in steps was a must for me. When I was looking I didn’t really want anything bigger then a 32’ which Silverton did make very similar to the 362 but all the bridge space sold me plus the 32’ was I/Os versus the V drives of the 362.

all of these things are major selling points. our carver has the ladder which is fine, but my wife is 10 years older than me and the stairs are a must if we go back to a bridge boat. I agree on the V drives as well. currently none of the silvertons in my region are even close but I will have to keep it on my watch list for sure.

3700 SCR is when you start to see enclosed showers. On Searay express you start seeing them in the 3800.
