Default 4600 Waste tank

Has anyone replaced the waste tank on their 4600SCB?

Mine has had issue prior to my purchase and I have reached the point where replacing it is now the smart choice before it fails completely.

It looks like the hot water tank has to come out to remove it, can anyone confirm?

It's possible on of the previous owners had replaced it once but I am not sure. It does have 37" x 31" x 14" written pin marker on the side, so that is likely the size I will replace it with, unless someone knows better.

Default Holding tank

Replaced mine couple years ago. Tried to repair old one, waste of money. Yes, you have to remove hot water tank to access. I had the job done, and they put a slightly smaller tank. Made install easier, especially for top of tank attachment. Make sure to add a tank saver on top. It's a one way fitting that provides a safety feature that allows air in during pump out, in case vent is blocked, tank won't collapse or crack. Cheap insurance. I would go with slightly smaller tank. Better just getting a pump out a little more often, less weight, less chance of issues

If your water heater has coolant hoses running from the heat exchanger, then be prepared to block those off when you disconnect the water heater. The first I did it, I accidentally drained most of the engine AF into the bilge before I realized it.

I bought two barb/barb elbows to fit the ID of the coolant hose and a small 1 foot section of hose. IT basically makes a closed loop by connecting the inbound line to the outbound line, preserving the coolant in the circuit.

Don't forget to drain the water heater prior to removal....DUH! I didn't when I replaced my on the 41SCA. Long story, almost cut my finger off, no kidding. A lot easier when drained first!
